First Look at Young Nick Fury on the Set of CAPTAIN MARVEL
A bunch of new set photos have surfaced from the set of Captain Marvel. The cool thing about these is that they offer us our first look at Samuel L. Jackson as a young version of Nick Fury.
As you know, the story for the film is set in the 90s so Fury is going to have to look 20 years younger. I imagine this will be accomplished with makeup and CG. As you can see in the photos below, Fury has a full head of hair and two eyes!
Kevin Feige previously offered some details about Fury's important role in the story, saying:
"We wanted to explore a period before Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury had any idea about any of the other heroes and crazy stuff going on in the world. You know, we first met Nick when he told Tony, 'You’re part of a big universe. You just don’t know yet.' Well, we want to go back to a time when he didn’t know it yet, and really showcase and announce that Carol Danvers was that first hero that Nick came across. That meant she could be the singular hero, but place it within timing of the [Marvel Cinematic Universe]."
Captain Marvel is being directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck who directed Mississippi Grind. The most recent script comes from Geneva Robertson-Dworet (Tomb Raider). The film also stars Brie Larson, Ben Mendelsohn as the villain, Jude Law as Doctor Walter Lawson, a.k.a. Mar-Vell, Clark Gregg will reprise his role as Agent Coulson, and Lee Pace and Djimon Hounsou, be back as the Kree villain Ronan the Accuser and his henchman Korath the Pursuer.
The story of the film follows Carol Danvers, an Air Force pilot whose DNA is fused with that of an alien during an accident. The resulting alteration imbues her with the superpowers of strength, energy projection, and flight. The Kree alien race will also be a major part of the story.
The movie is set to be released on March 8th, 2019.
