First Trailer For James Gunn's CREATURE COMMANDOS DC Animated Series
DC Studios drops the first trailer for James Gunn’s upcoming animated series Creature Commandos! This is the first project to be released under Gunn’s leadership at DC and it looks like it’s going to be a freakin’ blast!
The series “tracks a secret team of incarcerated monsters recruited for missions deemed too dangerous for humans. When all else fails…they’re your last, worst option.”
It seems like the writing for the series is solid, it looks like it will tell an interesting and fun story, and the animation is good quality work!
Gunn, who wrote the series previously said: “The new series picks up directly after our Peacemaker season one finale, which leaves Waller with her hands tied operationally, meaning that she’s no longer able to get away with putting human lives on the line to carry out her clandestine morally questionable missions. Instead, she recruits a ragtag band of misfits, not unlike the Suicide Squad and Peacemaker.”
The filmmaker went on to say that the Creature Commandos roster is made up of “actual literal monsters, and I can’t wait for you to meet them. Creating this series has been one of the absolute joys of my life.”
The team in the series consists of a human, a werewolf, a vampire, Frankenstein's monster, and a gorgon. The voice cast includes David Harbour as Eric Frankenstein, Sean Gunn as Weasel and GI Robot, Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., Maria Bakalova as Princess Ilana Rostovic, Indira Varma as The Bride, Zoe Chao as Nina Mazursky, Alan Tudyk as Dr. Phosphorus, with Steve Agee reprising his role as John Economos from Peacemaker.
Creature Commandos will premiere on Max in December 2024. Watch the trailer and tell us what you think!
