First Trailer For Netflix's SPLINTER CELL: DEATHWATCH Animated Series with Liev Schreiber as Sam Fisher
Netflix just released a teaser trailer for its upcoming animated adaptation of Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell, and longtime fans have reason to get excited. Unveiled during Anime NYC, the series is officially titled Splinter Cell: Deathwatch and marks the return of one of gaming’s most iconic stealth operatives, Sam Fisher.
This new series is being developed by Ubisoft Film & Television and will premiere on Netflix on October 14, 2025. It features a grizzled, older version of Sam Fisher, voiced this time by Liev Schreiber, taking over from longtime series voice actor Michael Ironside.
The teaser doesn’t dive deep into the story, but the stakes feel personal. The official premise sets the tone: “Sam Fisher is drawn back into the field when a wounded young operative seeks out his help.”
Joining Schreiber in the voice cast is Janet Varney (The Legend of Korra) as Anna Grimsdottir, Kirby (The Sandman) as Zinnia McKenna, and Joel Oulette as Thunder. The show’s script is in good hands too, with John Wick creator Derek Kolstad serving as the series’ writer.
This is a fresh take on the franchise that doesn’t just rehash the past. It's bringing a stylized and cinematic approach to Fisher’s world, and with Kolstad behind the wheel, we’re probably in for some sharp storytelling and slick action.
Splinter Cell: Deathwatch is set to blend espionage, action, and character-driven drama in a way that brings the stealth classic into a new medium for both longtime fans and new audiences.
