Former BLADE Director Was Reportedly "Difficult to Work With"
It was recently reported that Yann Demange has stepped away from directing Marvel Studios’ Blade. At the time of the report no details were given other than the separation was amicable.
Some new information has surfaced from insider Jeff Sneider revealing that there may be more to the story. He says that actor Mahershala Ali grew frustrated with the director and also claims that Demange is "difficult to work with."
Sneider adds that Marvel Studios parted ways with the director back in March and they’ve been looking for a new writer and director to take on the project.
Eric Pearson is writing the latest draft of the script after Stacy Osei-Kuffour, Beau DeMayo, Michael Starrbury, Nic Pizzolatto, and Michael Green all took a crack at the screenplay.
According to the previous report, Marvel believes “getting Blade right is much more important than getting the film out,” and that “the pressure to produce as much content as possible has been lifted,” and the studio now has “some breathing room.”
Hopefully, Marvel find the right director for the job, someone who is going to give fans a great Blade movie!
Blade will be the second R-rated film to come out of Marvel Studios, the first is Shawn Levy and Ryan Reynolds’ upcoming Deadpool 3.
It was previously reported that Marvel is looking to go with “a darker tone on this film than other MCU projects have been in the past.”
Mia Goth and Delroy Lindo are also attached to star in the movie.
