Cool Behind-The-Scenes Featurette For A24's THE LEGEND OF OCHI Highlights The Magic of Practical Effects
A24 has released a featurette for it magical new fantasy adventure film The Legend of Ochi. It offers a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the film.
The video focuses on writer and director Isaiah Saxon journey to revive “the near-lost art of practical cinematic magic in his breathtaking fantasy debut.” It’s really cool to see how the creative team brought this movie to life!
The movie centers on a young girl who lives on a mysterious island and befriends a little creature known as an Ochi as they embark on a journey into the wilderness.
The synopsis reads: “In a remote northern village, a young girl, Yuri, is raised to never go outside after dark and to fear the reclusive forest creatures known as the ochi.
“When a baby ochi is left behind by its pack, she embarks on the adventure of a lifetime to reunite it with its family.” We also learn that the young girl "uncovers the mysteries of animal communication."
This looks like a great film that tells a fantastic and fun adventure story that the whole family can enjoy. I enjoy movies like this that have a sense of awe and wonder and display a big imagination.
The film stars Helena Zengel (System Crasher, News of the World), Finn Wolfhard, Emily Watson, and Willem Dafoe.
