Fun Full Trailer for Netflix's Animated Action-Adventure Fantasy Film NIMONA

Netflix has released a full trailer for its animated fantasy adventure film Nimona. The movie is based on the graphic novel by ND Stevenson, and the story follows a teenager named Nimona who has the power to shapeshift into different kinds of animals.

Chloë Grace Moretz plays Nimona, and she ends up teaming up with a knight that she initially thinks is a villain. The knight is named Ballister Boldheart and is played by Riz Ahmed. Nimona wants to be his sidekick, but he’s been accused of a crime he didn’t commit. Nimona ends up helping him clear his name as he’s targeted by another knight who is looking to take him down.

The movie was directed by Nick Bruno and Troy Quane, who previously helmed Spies in Disguise. The voice cast for the film also includes Eugene Lee Yang, Frances Conroy, Lorraine Toussaint, Beck Bennett, Indya Moore, Julio Torres, and RuPaul Charles.

In the film: “When Ballister Boldheart (Ahmed), a knight in a futuristic medieval world, is framed for a crime he didn't commit, the only one who can help him prove his innocence is Nimona (Moretz), a mischievous teen with a taste for mayhem — who also happens to be a shapeshifting creature Ballister has been trained to destroy. But with the entire kingdom out to get him, Nimona’s the best (or technically the only) sidekick Ballister can hope for. And as the lines between heroes, villains, and monsters start to blur, the two of them set out to wreak serious havoc — for Ballister to clear his name once and for all, and for Nimona to… just wreak serious havoc.”

The film project was originally set up at Fox Animation and Blue Sky Studios, but after Disney bought 20th Century Fox they canceled it. Annapurna Pictures ended up taking on the project, and Netflix is going to release it.

Netflix will debut Nimona on June 30th, 2023. Enjoy the new trailer!
