In 1979, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, and James Earl Jones recorded outgoing messages for a Star Wars-themed hotline that fans could call. This was a promotion for The Empire Strikes Back, and you can now listen to the outtakes from some of those recordings.

The cast worked with producer Craig Miller on these recorded messages and this is the note that came along with the videos:

The audio recording you’re about to hear is an outtake from the recording session that has only recently been brought to light. A super rare gem from Star Wars history!

I was just a baby when these recordings were released, so I never had the opportunity to call them! Did any of you call this hotline when you were a kid!?
