Gal Gadot Wanted For BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN If Angelina Jolie Drops Out

We recently learned that Universal Pictures' the Bride of Frankenstein production was recently shut down so that director Bill Condon and his creative team could have more time to develop the story properly. When previously talking about his approach to the story, he explained:

“For me, the James Whale movie is really right there in the pantheon for me. As you know, the Bride is a character who appears in the last five minutes and then is destroyed, so it’s a way to almost continue the movie that you imagine the movie he might have made the third Frankenstein movie but in 2018.”

Angelina Jolie is still in the running to star in the film as The Bride, she's just waiting for the final script to come in before she makes a decision. If she ends up dropping out of the running for the project, according to The Wrap, Bill Condon wants Wonder Woman star Gal Godot in the role.

You know what? I love the idea of that casting! In fact, I like the thought of Gal Godat in the role of monstrous bride more than Angelina Jolie. Gadot would fit really well in the role. 

The outlet also offered a new update on the film's delay from an insider who told them:

“This is fairly out of nowhere given how deep they were into prep over there, but not really surprising — their mandate has more or less been that they wanted these to work as PG-rated action movies/theme-park rides, not horror movies. Basically ‘Fast and the Furious’ meets ‘The Avengers’ – but with super monsters.“

That's a shame. This Dark Universe should be first and foremost horror movies. If they want to make them adventurous, fine! But they need to build that adventure around the horror, not the other way around.
