Garrett Hedlund and Olivia Wilde Returning For TRON 3
At the end of 2010's Tron: Legacy, Sam Flynn and Quorra escape The Grid and head into the real world. In my opinion, Legacy had a really lackluster script, but I'll still admit to being curious as to how Quorra would operate in the real world since she's never been there before. Now it looks like we're about to find out.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Garrett Hedlund and Olivia Wilde will both reprise their roles in the upcoming Tron 3 (which may be called Tron: Ascension). That's great news for fans of the franchise, who have been wanting the movie to officially move forward ever since the credits rolled on Legacy.
Wilde has already spoken about what she'd like to see in the third movie, and I know I'm not alone in hoping that her character has much more to do this time around. It does seem like she'd be the at the center of the story this time, and with Joseph Kosinski saying that the third film delivers on the promise of Tron: Legacy, I'm hoping that the writers give Cillian Murphy a great, meaty role here and that this film is an improvement in every way. Filming is supposed to begin sometime this fall in Vancouver, so we'll keep you posted as production gets underway.
