GEN V Season 3 Story Might Still Live On in THE BOYS Universe as Eric Kripke Teases Future Plans

Even though Gen V didn’t make it past two seasons on Prime Video, it sounds like the story isn’t completely dead. In fact, parts of what was planned for Season 3 could still find a home somewhere else in the twisted, super-powered chaos of The Boys universe.

According to Eric Kripke, there’s still interest behind the scenes in continuing stories connected to that world. It just might not happen in the way fans originally expected.

Kripke recently shared that conversations are happening, even if things are still in the early stages. “It’s very early days, because we’re focusing on getting Vought Rising out into the world, but Amazon has expressed an interest and they want to hear more potential stories in the world,” he told Entertainment Weekly.

That should be enough to get fans curious, but he went on to say: “So we’re internally brainstorming a couple different ideas. We’ll see which ones get traction, but they all have the opportunity to absorb at least some of the Gen V gang, and that’s very much by design.”

So while Gen V as a standalone series may be done, its characters and story threads could be far from over. That opens the door for crossovers, spin-offs, or even major arcs showing up in future projects tied to The Boys universe.

One storyline in particular still seems to be on Kripke’s mind. He previously teased a direction for Marie that never got the chance to unfold. “We’re still hopeful we can find a way to do it. So, unfortunately, I can’t share it,” he said, adding, “This idea that Marie is powerful, but that’s not the end of her story. She has to learn how to control it.”

That sounds like a great character arc, especially considering how central Marie became to the show’s identity.

As for the cancellation itself, Kripke made it clear he wasn’t the one pulling the plug. “I did not cancel the show. One, I don’t have the power to do that. Two, I was fighting to keep the show, almost more than anybody else on Earth. So I’m as bummed as everybody else out there.”

It’s a tough blow for fans who were invested in Gen V, but this isn’t a closed door. If anything, it feels more like a detour. With Amazon still interested in expanding this universe and Kripke actively developing ideas, there’s a solid chance we haven’t seen the last of these characters.
