Giancarlo Esposito Continues To Tease His "Badass" MCU Character in CAPTAIN AMERICA: BRAVE NEW WORLD
Giancarlo Esposito continues to talk about and tease the MCU character he plays in Marvel’s upcoming film Captain America: Brave New World.
While Esposito hasn’t revealed who exactly he’s playing, there are set photos and video showing the actor in full costume and he’s all decked out in tactical gear.
Esposito previously described his character as an "antagonist agent of chaos," and he’s on some kind of mission in the movie. He could possibly be hunting down Sam Wilson.
The actor expresses his excitement and shares in an interview with Deadline: "In my other life, I'm a real badass, and you've seen me play a little bit of that intellectually as Gus Fring, but when you see me in the MCU, you're going to see a badass, and I'm excited for that.
"Acting is using every part of your body, your emotions, your senses, your feelings, to portray something. But you haven't seen me use my body in a way that I'll be using it.
“The MCU's exciting; I can't tell you who I'm playing, but you're going to be excited when you see."
Some fans are speculating that he’s playing a villain from the comics named Machete, but we’ll learn who he’s playing when the movie is released on February 14, 2025.
In the film, Anthony Mackie is back in the role of Sam Wilson, who is now Captain America. The movie also stars Liv Tyler, Shira Haas, Tim Blake Nelson, Rosa Salazar, Danny Ramirez, and Carl Lumbly.
Julius Onah (The Cloverfield Paradox) is directing the film from a script penned by Dalan Musson and Malcolm Spellman, both of whom wrote for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Spellman will produce with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige.
