GOOD OMENS Season 2 Trailer Teases the Next Fun Chapter of Aziraphale and Crowley's Story
Prime Video has released the first trailer for Neil Gaiman’s highly anticipated Good Omens Season 2! We’ve been waiting for the next chapter of this show for a long time, it’s finally coming, and it looks great!
This series follows the story of Aziraphale (Michael Sheen), “an angel, and Crowley (David Tennant), a demon, who have formed an unlikely friendship spanning 6,000 years and have grown fond of life on earth. However, the end of time grows near with the approaching Armageddon and they must now join forces to find a way to save the world.”
It’s good to see all of these characters again and they will be joined by Jon Hamm as the archangel Gabriel, who seems to have a major role in the story. It looks like Hamm gives an enjoyable and fun performance.
The new six-episode season will “explore storylines that go beyond the original source material to illuminate the uncanny friendship between Aziraphale, a fussy angel and rare book dealer, and the fast-living demon Crowley. Having been on Earth since The Beginning, and with the Apocalypse thwarted, Aziraphale and Crowley are getting back to easy living amongst mortals in London’s Soho when an unexpected messenger presents a surprising mystery.”
In the story, “Aziraphale and Crowley are getting back to normal, living in London among mortals, when a new angel—Muriel—shows up unexpectedly at their doorstep. The angel (and new angel) and demon will have to solve a mystery before they can get back to their domestic lives together.”
The first season was originally planned as a limited series because there was only one book to adapt. But, when the series became a big hit, Prime Video wanted to make a second season, so they got permission from Gaiman and made it.
The series also stars Derek Jacobi (Gladiator) reprising his role of Metatron, and joining him is Dame Siân Phillips (Dune). Also returning this season are Mark Gatiss (Sherlock), Steve Pemberton (Killing Eve), and Reece Shearsmith (Inside No. 9) in the roles of Mr. Harmony, Mr. Glozier, and William Shakespeare.
Niamh Walsh (The English Game) also returns, and joining the series in new roles are Tim Downie (Outlander), Pete Firman (The Magicians), Andi Osho (I May Destroy You), and Alex Norton (Pirates of the Caribbean).
Other cast members include Miranda Richardson, Maggie Service, Nina Sosanya, Doon Mackichan, Gloria Obianyo, Liz Carr, Quelin Sepulveda, and Shelley Conn.
Gaiman will continue as executive producer and co-showrunner along with executive producer Douglas Mackinnon, who has returned to direct all six episodes.
The second season is set to premiere on July 28th.
