HAPPY DEATH DAY Director Christopher Landon to Helm Werewolf Movie BIG BAD
Happy Death Day and Freaky director Christopher Landon is set to helm a new werewolf movie titled Big Bad. The movie is set up at Lionsgate and it’s based on a short story from Chandler Baker, who will also write the script for the film.
Landon was previously attached to direct Scream VII, but that project ended up falling apart and the filmmaker ended up exiting the project after Melissa Barrera was fired and Jenna Ortega dropped out.
The “Big Bad” short story is part of the anthology novel Creature Feature. In the story, “The Strauss family is on knife’s edge. Sam is a resentful stay-at-home dad. Rachel feels the restlessness in her blood returning. Their children are getting out of hand. And a recent mudslide has forced the wolves out of the woods to look for food. As dusk falls and tensions rise, the family must come together to survive the night — from the threats outside and those within.”
Landon has made some entertaining horror movies and it will be fun to see what he ends up doing with this werewolf horror film. With Landon at the helm, I have no doubt it will deliver a good time!
Todd Lieberman and Hidden Pictures will produce along side Landon.
