Hayden Christensen Is Ready to Return as Anakin Skywalker Any Time Lucasfilm Calls

Hayden Christensen has been on quite the Star Wars comeback run, and it’s not stopping with Ahsoka Season 2. The actor recently spoke at Fan Expo Boston about his future in the galaxy far, far away, and while nothing beyond the new season is locked in, he’s more than ready to suit up again if Lucasfilm gives the word.

When asked if he’d be up for more Anakin Skywalker appearances after Ahsoka Season 2, Christensen didn’t hesitate.

“One hundred percent… I would love to, yes. If the powers that be decide that’s something that they want to see, I would be there in a heartbeat.”

The “powers that be” is the creative team at Lucasfilm, the writers, producers, and the studio execs who decide which projects get the green light. As far as Christensen is concerned, if there’s fan demand for more Anakin, he’s game.

Even though Ahsoka takes place after Darth Vader’s death, Christensen returned as a Force ghost guiding his former Padawan, Ahsoka Tano (played by Rosario Dawson).

In recent years, Christensen’s other returns to the franchise have been smaller but no less impactful. He voiced Anakin in The Rise of Skywalker, appeared mostly in the Vader suit for Obi-Wan Kenobi, and popped up through visions or Force projections.

With digital de-aging technology now a common Star Wars tool, it’s not hard to imagine him showing up in full Clone Wars-era flashbacks, or even entirely new stories set before Revenge of the Sith.

It’s also been reported that Anakin’s role in Ahsoka Season 2 will be bigger than expected.

Christensen’s reception at Fan Expo Boston showed just how much fans still connect with him. The crowds were massive, and the love for his take on Anakin seems stronger than ever. Where he might appear next after Ahsoka is anyone’s guess, but the door is clearly wide open.

For now, Ahsoka Season 2 is deep in production with no release date yet. Until then, Season 1 is streaming on Disney+, along with Christensen’s other Star Wars appearances, giving fans plenty of Anakin to revisit while they wait.
