Hayden Christensen Pays Respect To THE CLONE WARS Actor Matt Lanter For "Keeping STAR WARS Alive"

Hayden Christensen, who played Anakin Skywalker in the Star Wars prequels, recently expressed his gratitude to The Clone Wars voice actor Matt Lanter for his role in keeping the legacy of the character alive.

According to an excerpt from The Dark Side Collection book (via The Holo Files), Christensen’s first meeting with Lanter included heartfelt admiration as he told him, “Thanks for keeping Star Wars alive.”

Lanter voiced Anakin Skywalker in The Clone Wars across 95 episodes, portraying the Jedi’s incredible journey during the titular conflict.

The story dove into Anakin’s relationships with Obi-Wan Kenobi and his padawan Ahsoka Tano, giving fans a deeper understanding of the character’s struggles and eventual fall to the dark side.

Christensen, on the other hand, stepped away from the role for 17 years after his final performance in Revenge of the Sith. He returned triumphantly in Disney+'s Obi-Wan Kenobi in 2022 and reprised the role in Ahsoka, starring alongside Rosario Dawson.

As for the future, Christensen remains enthusiastic about revisiting the Star Wars universe, and he said: “I would love to get to do more, and I'd love to get to continue with Star Wars.

“I don't know what the future holds, and if such an opportunity presents itself, I'll be there with a big smile on my face. And if it doesn't, I feel really grateful for getting to come back and getting to do the work that I did in both Obi-Wan and Ahsoka.”

Both Christensen and Lanter have done a great job playing Anakin Skywalker and the character remains a great and vital character in the Star Wars universe.
