Heated Rivalry Star Connor Storrie Rumored for Hulkling Role in Marvel’s CHAMPIONS Series
Marvel Studios may have found its Hulkling. A new rumor making the rounds claims that Connor Storrie, who fans know from the popular Canadian sports romance series Heated Rivalry, is being considered for the role of Theodore "Teddy" Altman, better known as Hulkling, in Marvel's upcoming Disney+ project, Champions.
The report comes from scooper MyTimeToShineHello, who shared on X: “Connor Storrie is being eyed to play Hulkling in the MCU starting in Champions.”
As with any casting rumor, it's worth remembering that Marvel hasn't confirmed anything, so fans should treat this as speculation for now.
Storrie has been gaining attention thanks to his performance as Ilya Rozanov in Heated Rivalry. While he previously appeared briefly in Joker: Folie à Deux, taking on a major Marvel role would put him in a completely different spotlight.
For those unfamiliar with Hulkling, the character has been one of the most important members of Marvel's Young Avengers lineup for years.
In the comics, Teddy Altman is the son of Mar-Vell, the original Captain Marvel, and the Skrull Princess Anelle. After escaping a death sentence ordered by the Skrull Emperor, he was secretly raised on Earth by his Skrull nurse while living under a human identity.
Believing he was a mutant for much of his life, Teddy eventually joined the Young Avengers after being recruited by Iron Lad. His powers include shape-shifting, enhanced durability, and superhuman strength, making him one of the team's most powerful members.
Of course, Marvel Studios has never been afraid to remix comic book origins for the MCU, so there's no guarantee Hulkling's backstory would be adapted exactly as it appears on the page.
What many insiders expect, however, is that the character will emerge as a central figure in Champions and potentially serve as one of the team's leaders.
At the moment, Marvel's attention is focused on its upcoming theatrical slate, including Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Avengers: Doomsday, and Avengers: Secret Wars. Official details regarding Champions remain under lock and key.
With Secret Wars currently scheduled for release in 2027, it seems likely that Champions won't arrive until sometime in 2028 or 2029.
The project is expected to bring together many of the younger heroes, who are not that young anymore, who have already been introduced throughout the MCU. The rumored roster includes Kamala Khan's Ms. Marvel, Kate Bishop, America Chavez, Cassie Lang, Riri Williams, and Billy Maximoff, also known as Wiccan.
If Storrie does land the role, he'd be stepping into one of the most anticipated characters fans have been waiting to see join Marvel's next generation of heroes. Until Marvel makes an official announcement, though, this remains firmly in the rumor category.
That said, if Champions is truly laying the foundation for the MCU's future after Avengers: Secret Wars, the search for its Hulkling is going to be one of the more interesting casting stories to watch unfold.
