Henry Cavill Confirms He Won't Be Filming Any Reshoots for the Snyder Cut of JUSTICE LEAGUE
It was revealed earlier this week that Zack Snyder has made the decision to bring back the core cast of Justice League for reshoots on his version of the film. It had originally been stated that Snyder would use only footage that had been shot when he was originally on board as director, but it was confirmed that additional scenes will need to be shot with Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, and Ray Fisher as Cyborg. These reshoots are scheduled to take place next month.
But maybe not with everyone they reported. According to an interview with Collider, when talking to Henry Cavill about his most recent film, Enola Holmes, Cavill said:
“Not shooting anything additional. No. It’s all stuff that has been already done. Obviously I don’t know how things are going to evolve and change and adapt depending on now a different length of movie and whatever may happen in post-production. Whatever lessons may be learned from what is it four years since Justice League came out? Four years’ worth of fan reaction. For me…I’m now just watching the party.”
Obviously, things can change, and Cavill could be asked to come back, but as for now, he believes he will not be returning to shoot any further scenes. Cavill just went back to shooting Season 2 of The Witcher in London, and won’t be wrapping up very soon, so it would be very difficult logistically for him to get back to L.A. anytime soon. Hopefully it all works out and fans will get the finished product they are hoping for. Are you looking forward to Justice League: Director’s Cut? It’s scheduled to hit HBO Max in 2021.
