Henry Golding in Talks to Star in the Upcoming G.I. JOE Film SNAKE EYES

Crazy Rich Asians star Henry Golding is talks to star in Paramount Pictures’ upcoming G.I. Joe film Snake Eyes. If cast, he will take on the title role of the film, which I’d be fine with. I like him as an actor.

The studio is working with Hasbro on trying to relaunch the G.I. Joe franchise ,and I really hope that they are able to pull it off this time and deliver a great G.I. Joe film! The upcoming Snake Eyes film is being directed by Robert Schwentke (The Captain, RED) from a script written by Evan Spiliotopoulos, who wrote Beauty and the Beast and The Huntsman: Winter’s War.

Snake Eyes is known for his all-black ninja style, and he doesn't speak. Here's a little background on the character:

One of the few mysterious and the more dangerous members of the G.I. Joe Team, Snake-Eyes served as a recon ranger in the jungles of Southeast Asia. All that can be said after that stint is he went on a long sabbatical, most believe it was in Japan. Some say he was training with the same ninja clan that begat Storm Shadow. We know his fighting skills have become more efficient and deadly. Rumors surfaced that when he was recruited into the Joe Team by Hawk, he was hunting rabbits at the time... with his bare hands.

On top of the Snake Eyes movie, there’s a second G.I. Joe film in development that has been described as an ensemble project that will include the character Chuckles. That movie is being developed by writers Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec (Alias, Mission: Impossible: Ghost Protocol).

What do you think about the possibility of seeing Henry Golding take on the role of Snake Eyes?
