HIGHLANDER Reboot Set Photos and Video Reveal Henry Cavill and Jeremy Irons Reuniting in London

Production on Highlander is officially rolling, and new set photos from London are giving fans their clearest look yet at Highlander in action. The images feature Henry Cavill sharing the screen once again with his Justice League co-star Jeremy Irons.

Filming recently took over the Tower of London, where director Chad Stahelski staged what looks like a major action sequence. Cavill was spotted wearing a leather outfit that clearly nods to the look worn by Christopher Lambert in the 1986 original.

It’s a fun visual callback that keeps the spirit of the franchise intact while pushing it forward. Irons, meanwhile, appeared in a dark trench coat with a sharp beard, giving off an authoritative presence.

Photos and video from the shoot also show just how intense this production is getting. One sequence features a performer, believed to be Cavill or his stunt double, being thrown from a motorcycle while secured by safety cables beneath a vehicle.

It’s looking like Stahelski is leaning hard into practical action and big physical set pieces, which should surprise absolutely no one familiar with his filmmaking style.

The cast around Cavill and Irons includes Russell Crowe, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, and Dave Bautista. Cavill is stepping into the role of Connor MacLeod, while Bautista is set to play the villainous Kurgan, a matchup that already sounds awesome on paper.

Official story details are still being kept under wraps, but a rumored synopsis reads: “Centuries after his first death on a Scottish battlefield, immortal warrior Connor MacLeod lives quietly in the modern world, haunted by loss and the endless cycle of violence among his kind.

“When the ruthless immortal Kurgan resurfaces, backed by a secret organization bent on unlocking the secret of eternal life, Connor is forced back into the Game — an ancient battle where ‘there can be only one’ (via SF Gazette).”

It’ll be exciting to see how this movie turns out!
