Hilarious Trailer For Johnny Cage’s Fake Action Flick UNCAGED FURY in MORTAL KOMBAT II

Warner Bros. just delivered a super fun marketing move for Mortal Kombat II by dropping a teaser trailer for a fake action movie called Uncaged Fury, starring none other than martial arts superstar Johnny Cage.

Of course, in the MK cinematic universe, Johnny Cage is played by Karl Urban, and they went all-in on this joke. WB even created a fake IMDb page for Cage and included references to another fictional hit of his, Bonnie & Cage, which they describe as “surprisingly heartwarming.”

“Prepare for the return of Johnny F. Cage. The F stands for… Fantastically handsome.” Cage goes on a rampage after someone dares to mess with his beloved sunglasses.

“This Uncaged Fury features Cage getting pissed and fighting a bunch of bad guys because they F’ed with his shades. You see, he really loves his sunglasses, so don’t mess with them.”

It’s ridiculous and self-aware in the best way, which is exactly what fans want from Johnny Cage. There’s even an official website dedicated to the fake film. This kind of immersive marketing is rare these days, and it’s awesome to see WB leaning into the joke while building hype for the sequel.

Mortal Kombat II is the follow-up to the 2021 reboot and brings back director Simon McQuoid. The screenplay comes from Jeremy Slater (Moon Knight). The tagline? “Realms will kollide.” Expect the stakes to be higher than ever as MMA fighter Cole Young and Earth’s champions face a new round of Outworld threats.

Mortal Kombat II hits theaters on October 24, 2025, and the first official trailer drops tomorrow. Until then, enjoy the Uncaged Fury teaser and enjoy the glorious absurdity of Johnny Cage being… Johnny Cage.
