Hot Toys Reveals Giant-Sized Sentinel Figure From AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY
The Sentinels are coming to Avengers: Doomsday, and thanks to Hot Toys, we've got our most detailed look yet at the massive mutant-hunting robots that will be appearing in the upcoming Marvel movie. The company has revealed its new Sentinel Jumbo Sofvi Figure, and this thing is freakin' awesome!
Standing over 23.6 inches tall (60 cm), the collectible gives fans a great look at the Sentinel's design, featuring its classic metallic purple and gray color scheme. It's a great-looking update of the iconic Marvel villains, and I can't wait to see these giant robots tearing things up on the big screen!
The figure is part of Hot Toys' Sofvi Masterpiece Series and features 18 points of articulation, including movement in the head, arms, elbows, wrists, chest, thighs, and knees.
It also comes with LED light-up eyes that can switch between green and orange, interchangeable face and chest plates, and battle-damaged pieces. Collectors can even remove the faceplate to reveal the mechanical details underneath.
There are also six interchangeable hands, including fists, open hands, and energy-blast-firing hands, giving fans plenty of options for displaying the massive robot in action.
One of the coolest additions is a 4.5-inch Doctor Doom miniature, complete with a rocky terrain display base. The miniature recreates a scene in which Doom raises the Sentinels from the ground, giving us a little tease of what to expect when these mechanical monsters make their appearance in the film.
Hot Toys shared the following official description:

Furthermore, the face plate can be removed entirely to expose the inner mechanical details beneath.

The Sentinels have always been some of the X-Men's most intimidating enemies, and seeing them brought into Avengers: Doomsday is pretty exciting. Their connection to Doctor Doom also raises some interesting questions about how they'll factor into the story and what kind of trouble they'll cause for the heroes.
As cool as this Hot Toys figure looks, I'm even more excited to eventually see footage of these giant robots in action. Watching an army of Sentinels go up against Marvel's heroes could make for some seriously awesome action sequences.
For now, this collectible offers a fantastic look at their new design, and it's going to make one hell of a centerpiece for Marvel collectors.
