How James Gunn's SUPERMAN Should Have Ended - Animated Videos
The team over at How It Should Have Ended is back with a couple of funny animated shorts, this time poking fun at James Gunn’s upcoming Superman reboot.
The first video kicks off with Krypto the Super Dog yanking Superman into the Super Cafe, leading Batman to smugly declare, “Superman bleeds.”
What follows is a cheeky breakdown of the trailer, as the two heroes chat about how the film finally lets Superman be a true hero again. But things take a darker turn when Batman predicts tragedy, referencing Gunn’s work on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
“I'm sorry for your future loss,” Batman says ominously, betting that Krypto won’t make it out unscathed. If he’s right, he plans to rub it in with his classic line, “Because I'm Batman.”
The short also takes some solid jabs at recent DC developments. From Jason Momoa as Lobo, to Batman’s curious absence from HBO’s The Penguin. One of the funniest moments comes when Batman freaks out over David Corenswet’s favorite movies list, especially the fact that Old Yeller made the cut.
The second video is just your classic How It Should Have Ended skit giving us an alternate take on how the movie ended using clear common sense. They also poke fun at a few other elemtns from the movie
This video also is a callback to the original How The Original Superman Movie Should Have Ended, where Lex Luthor tricks Superman with hidden kryptonite, and the Super Cafe format was born.
