James Gunn Teases Secret "Big Big Stars From DC" Coming in PEACEMAKER Season 2
James Gunn is having a blast keeping fans on edge when it comes to Peacemaker Season 2. The director and DC Studios co-CEO has been fueling speculation about who might be showing up in the new episodes, and now he’s doubled down on the idea that some major DC characters are headed our way.
During an appearance on Escorpio Golden, Gunn teased that fans should expect some very big surprises later in the season.
"We have some big, big stars from the DC universe that are going to be near the end of the season. Those are big surprises. If we told you, I'd have to kill you," Gunn joked.
This isn’t the first time Gunn has warned fans that the back half of the season is packed with game-changing moments. In fact, he’s gone as far as to keep the final three episodes locked away from press and even his own team.
The filmmaker said: "I really don't want what's in those last three episodes to be spoiled. And so I'm keeping them close to the chest. I won't even let my publicist see them.
“That's the god's honest truth. I will also say, six and eight may be my favorite things I've done, like, of all time. It's like some of my favorite stuff ever."
If Gunn is hyping episodes six and eight of Peacemaker as some of his best work ever, then fans are in for something pretty wild.
So who could be showing up? The possibilities are wide open. Superman is always a fan favorite for speculation, Lex Luthor could finally make his presence felt in Gunn’s DCU, and Blue Beetle feels like a strong contender after Gunn’s recent comments.
Of course, there’s always the chance of something completely unexpected. Could Batman drop in? Or maybe Gunn uses the opportunity to introduce Booster Gold, a character who’s already set to get his own show down the line.
Whatever the case, Gunn has made made it clear that Peacemaker Season 2 is setting the stage for some huge DC connections that could reshape the franchise moving forward.
Fans won’t have to wait long to find out who these mystery cameos are, but until then the guessing game is half the fun.
