Final V/H/S/HALLOWEEN Trailer Teases Blood-Drenched Chaos and Creepy Carnage
The countdown to Halloween has begun, but horror fans only have to wait a little longer for something truly twisted. V/H/S/Halloween is almost here, and the final trailer just dropped, giving us a grimy, gory taste of what’s coming when the cult-favorite found-footage franchise returns with its latest anthology.
This time, the V/H/S crew is going full seasonal with a Halloween-themed lineup of blood-soaked stories that promise to turn trick-or-treat night into a full-on survival horror experience.
The official synopsis keeps things simple but sinister: “A collection of Halloween-themed videotapes unleashes a series of twisted, blood-soaked tales, turning trick-or-treat into a struggle for survival.”
V/H/S/Halloween is packing six shorts from a killer lineup of genre talent. We’ve got “Diet Phantasma” from Bryan M. Ferguson, “Fun Size” from Casper Kelly (Star Trek: Very Short Treks), “Home Haunt” by Micheline Pitt-Norman and R.H. Norman, “Kidprint” from Alex Ross Perry (Her Smell), “Ut Supra Sic Infra” (“As Above, So Below”) by Paco Plaza (Rec), and “Coochie Coochie Coo” by Anna Zlokovic (Appendage).
The V/H/S franchise has always thrived on unpredictability, using its found-footage format to bounce between old-school camcorder terror and modern-day tech nightmares.
This new installment seems to lean into the best of both worlds, delivering supernatural shocks and twisted imagery that feel right at home during the Halloween season.
And critics who got an early look are already singing its praises. Brian Tallerico of RogerEbert.com called it “One of the best entries in the series, with a tongue-in-bloody-cheek sense of humor and willingness to go beyond perceived decorum. Keep your elevated horror. Let’s get down in the muck.”
Meanwhile, Ryan Scott of Slash Film described it as “The funniest and darkest entry yet. It's an absolute delight to see this particular franchise tackle Halloween in this way. A remarkably satisfying, raucously good time.”
The movie looks like it’ll deliver another fun V/H/S horror movie! V/H/S/Halloween premieres on Shudder October 3.
