Idris Elba Returns for Another Wild Ride in Teaser Trailer for HIJACK Season 2
What are the chances of someone being caught in two hijackings? Pretty slim, unless you’re Idris Elba in Hijack. Apple TV has officially dropped the first teaser trailer for Hijack Season 2, and this time the action shifts from the skies to the underground.
The new season trades in the airplane cabin chaos for the tense, enclosed tunnels of Berlin’s metro system. The setup sounds just as nerve-racking when a Berlin underground train and its passengers are taken hostage as authorities race to save hundreds of lives.
Sam Nelson (Elba) once again finds himself in the middle of the storm, trying to keep everyone alive when every move could be fatal.
The first season of Hijack, which premiered in June 2023, hooked viewers with its real-time storytelling following a seven-hour flight from Dubai to London that spiraled into a high-stakes hostage situation.
Season 2 looks set to bring back that same real-time intensity, but it’ll be interesting to see how the format works in a metro setting where a full loop around Berlin takes less than two hours.
The series was created by George Kay (Killing Eve, Lupin, Criminal) and directed and co-written by Jim Field Smith (Truth Seekers, Litvinenko). Both return as executive producers alongside Idris Elba, Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta, and Tom Nash. Season 2 was filmed entirely on location in Berlin.
Hijack Season 2 begins streaming on Apple TV on January 14, 2026.
