In Case You Were Wondering, Lando Calrissian is Pansexual

Lando Calrissian is a pretty suave dude. Everyone loved the character because he's just so laid back and cool. I know there are some Star Wars fans out there that have wondered what Lando's sexuality is, and according to Solo: A Star Wars Story co-writer Jonathan Kasdan, he's a pansexual. That is to say, he's not limited in sexual choice with regard to biological sex, gender, or gender identity.

During an interview with the Huffington Post, Kasdan and his father Lawrence Kasdan, were specifically asked if Lando was pansexual. Jonathan said, "I would say yes." He then added:

"There’s a fluidity to Donald and Billy Dee Williams’ [portrayal of Lando’s] sexuality. I mean, I would have loved to have gotten a more explicitly LGBT character into this movie. I think it’s time, certainly, for that, and I love the fluidity – sort of the spectrum of sexuality that Donald appeals to and that droids are a part of.

"He doesn’t make any hard and fast rules. I think it’s fun. I don’t know where it will go."

I don't know, it seems to make sense for Lando. Some fans will embrace the idea, while I'm sure some won't. We don't even know if that is what George Lucas intended for the character, but that was the answer Kasdan gave and it's just his opinion. There's nothing in the Solo movie that really addresses Lando's sexuality, but it is hinted at one point that he might have a thing for droids.

I won't get into that, though, because even though it's interesting, the whole droid gender thing and the concept of a droid wanting to be with a human just baffles me. I mean, they're droids!

I wonder if they will address this further when Lucasfilm eventually makes a movie that focuses on Lando. Anyway, what do you all think about Kasdan's opinion of Lando being pansexual?
