INDIANA JONES 5 Concept Art Reveals Scrapped Plan to Have Indiana and Short Round Battle Zombies

Some new early concept art has surfaced for Indiana Jones 5 and it reveals a scrapped story idea that would’ve been awesome! In the early development of the film, Lucasfilm actually considered bringing back Ke Huy Quan's Short Round to team back up with Indiana Jones! This was a missed opportunity, and it’s a shame that they didn’t follow through with this!

The concept art features Ke Huy Quan's Short Round and Indy fighting off a hoard of zombies from an ancient civilization. Indiana Jones 5 went through several iterations before they settled on the story the filmmakers went with. While I enjoyed the film, I think bringing Short Round back would’ve been a better and more exciting story to play with.

This image right here makes me happy and I think bringing this character back would have actually got fans more excited about seeing the movie! Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny was met with mixed reactions and was a big box office flop with only making $384 million worldwide.

Seeing Jones being reunited with his old sidekick, Short Round, for a new adventure would’ve been awesome and I’m surprised that they didn’t go that route! It would’ve got fans more excited for the movie! I’m really bummed out that this was something the creative team at Lucasfilm passed on.
