INFINITY WAR Writers Explain Why Tony Stark and Steve Rogers' Fallout Wasn't Explored Further

Bruce Banner and Black Widow's relationship wasn't the only one ignored in Avengers: Infinity War. I know a lot of fans were hoping to see what happened between Tony Stark and Steve Rogers after their fallout in Civil War. It was briefly addressed in the film, but it didn't go any further than that.

We now have some insight into what screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely were thinking in regards to their decision to brush over the issues of these two characters. It basically came down to lack of time to do it. While talking to Yahoo Movies, McFeely said:

"Our first sort of wonky draft [had] the idea that they had to get back in the same room together and deal with that. [But it] meant that you’re slowing down your Thanos [Infinity] Stones [quest] to deal with other threats from other movies. And that became, as much as we wanted to do, and as many times as we wrote those scenes, it became clear that this movie needed to be propulsive and be about Thanos and what he represented to the Avengers."

That makes sense, and I'm sure that it will be explored a little more in Avengers 4. I imagine that will be the next time we see the two characters come back together. With everything that happened in Infinity War, though, I imagine they will easily put their differences aside for the good of the universe.

Were you disappointed that the events of Civil War didn't play a larger role in Infinity War
