Intense Video From The Set of THE PUNISHER Season 2 Shows The Villain Jigsaw in Action
A video from the set of Marvel's The Punisher Season 2 has surfaced and it's actually pretty intense. It features our first look yet at actor Ben Barnes in the role of the villain Billy Russo a.k.a. Jigsaw. As you will see, he goes a little ballistic and starts shooting at Jon Bernthal's Frank Castle and there's also footage of Castle shooting back at him.
In case you don't remember, Castle brutally cut up Russo's face up in the final episode of the first season. He obviously went through some reconstructive surgery, but it's more of a real-world outcome than the look of the over-the-top version of the character from the comic book. Watch the video below and if you have any thoughts on the footage, you know where to talk about it!
We don't have any solid confirmation of the story that Season 2 will tell, but we've heard rumors that it might adapt Garth Ennis' The Slavers story arc. If you're not familiar with that story, here is a rundown:
The Punisher is about to murder a gangster when woman opens fire on him wounding him. The Woman is forced to retreat into an alley that turns out to be a dead end. The Punisher kills the gangster he was their to murder and follows the woman and the men chasing her into the alley. Frank Castle kills the men and is about to leave when the woman begging for his help screams they killed her baby. Frank takes her back to his base where she passed out following him and listens to her story. The woman named Viorica tells Frank that she was forced into prostitution and kept by slavers living in New York City and that after she escaped they tried to track her down and murdered her child. The Punisher then turns all of his attention to the forced prostitution ring and sets out to destroy it.
As for the cast, Josh Stewart will be taking on the role of John Pilgrim, "a man whose calm exterior belies a ruthless interior. Despite having left behind a life of violence, circumstances will force him to use his old skills and bring him into Frank Castle’s world." Floriana Lima will play Krista Dumont, "a smart, compassionate, and driven psychotherapist for military veterans." Giorgia Whigham will play Amy Bendix, "a street-smart grifter with a mysterious past."
Then there's Corbin Bernsen who is set to play Anderson Schultz, "an extremely wealthy man who’s grown accustomed to getting his way. His power and legacy are of prime importance, and he’ll implement less-than-legal means to further those ends." Annette O’Toole will be taking on the role of the conniving Eliza Schultz, "Anderson’s equally manipulative wife."
Amber Rose Revah and Jason R. Moore are also set to return to the series.
