INVINCIBLE Season 2 Confirmed to Premiere on Prime Video in 2023
The long-awaited second season of Robert Kirkman’s animated adaptation of Invincible is finally going to premiere next year in 2023! During a recent interview with Collider, Amazon head of television Vernon Sanders confirmed the news, but we don’t have an exact date yet. It’s just good to know that we won’t have to wait much longer.
Series star Steven Yeun talked about the upcoming season and shared that Kirkman is incredibly excited about what’s coming in the next chapter of the story. He said:
"[Kirkman's] super excited about it. He thinks season 2 is gonna be even better than season 1, which I have no doubt about. If you go to his source material, Invincible is an incredible comic, and just thinking about how much story hasn't been told from that run, it's gonna be bonkers. I'm really excited about it."
Invincible revolves around 17-year-old Mark Grayson (Yeun), who's just like every other guy his age — except his father is the most powerful superhero on the planet, Omni-Man (J.K. Simmons). The ending of the first season was insane as it ended with Omni-Man's twisted true intentions being revealed. I’m excited to see how the story continues to play out in Season 2!
The series also stars Sandra Oh, Zazie Beetz, Gillian Jacobs, Zachary Quinto, Jason Mantzoukas, Melise, Mark Hamill, Mahershala Ali, Seth Rogen, and more.
