It Looks Like Joss Whedon Might Actually Get Directing Credit on JUSTICE LEAGUE
As you know by now, Joss Whedon has taken over the directing duties on Justice League after Zack Snyder stepped down as the director. There were rumors that a substantial amount of the film was being reshot with Whedon. A lot of fans didn't want that to be true, but it looks like it might be. It seems like Whedon has reshot enough of the film that he might actually end up getting a co-directing credit on the film.
Over the weekend, the Comic-Con trailer for Justice League was released online and in the description of the film on the UK Warner Brothers YouTube page, it listed Joss Whedon as a director. Here's that description:
“Justice League – Official Trailer. A film by Zack Snyder and Joss Whedon starring Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Henry Cavill, Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller and Ray Fisher. In cinemas November 2017."
Now, just because an official Warner Bros. YouTube page list Whedon as a director on the film doesn't mean he will be officially credited on the movie. But, it certainly looks and sounds like he will be, especially if the reshoots are as extensive as they are rumored to be. It's worth noting that the movie is still in production and the credits of the film haven't been finalized. In the end, the Directors guild will end up making the final decision. One thing we know for sure is that Whedon is doing a lot more on the film than I think the fans expected.
Regardless of how you feel about Whedon getting a directing credit on the movie, the studio will give credit where credit is due.
