It Looks Marvel's SECRET INVASION Will Introduce Super Skrulls Thanks to an IRON MAN 3 Story Thread
Secret Invasion Episode 3 recently dropped as Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Talos (Ben Mendelsohn) are racing against time to prevent a third World War, the villainous Skrull Gravik (Kingsley Ben-Adir) seemed to have leveled up in a big way, and something that will help in his efforts to start a war and take over the world... as a Super Skrull. If you haven’t watched the episode yet, you might want to skip this because there are spoilers ahead.
It looks like Super Skrulls are coming to the MCU and it’s all thanks to a story thread that was started in Iron Man 3. Remember the Extremis Virus used by Aldrich Killian to help him battle Tony Stark? Well, it seems like Gravik injected himself with a version of the Extremis Virus.
The Extremis Virus gives the host super powers including healing, heat powers like fire breath, and enhanced strength. In Iron Man 3 the Extremis Virus was very unstable and often, hosts would explode because they were unable to handle the virus.
The virus was introduced in Secret Invasion with G’iah (Emilia Clarke) searching for data on Rosa Dalton, who was a scientist, and that led her to a catalog that includes information on the Extremis Virus. It’s clear that the enemy Skrulls want to be stronger, and the Extremis Virus is their answer. Maybe the virus will be more stable within a Skrull host.
Things are definitely going to get interesting in the MCU with super-powered Skrulls running around! The question is… will Nick Fury be able to stop them?
