New Trailer For SECRET INVASION Teases a War That Nick Fury Will Have To Fight... Alone
In case you’re wondering why Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury won’t be calling in his superhero friends to help him in his next adventure in Marvel’s Secret Wars, he makes it very clear in this new trailer that “this war is one I have to fight… alone.” Sure, he’d have a much better chance at winning the war with his “special friends,” but Fury must be feeling very confident in his abilities to win this war by himself.
Apparently, this whole thing is very personal for him. The story is set in the present-day MCU, “Nick Fury learns of a clandestine invasion of Earth by a faction of shapeshifting Skrulls. Fury joins his allies, including Everett Ross, Maria Hill and the Skrull Talos, who has made a life for himself on Earth. Together they race against time to thwart an imminent Skrull invasion and save humanity.”
Kevin Feige recently labeled Secret Invasion as a "twisty political thriller". The series also stars Ben Mendelsohn, Cobie Smulders, Martin Freeman, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Charlayne Woodard, Killian Scott, Samuel Adewunmi, Dermot Mulroney, Christopher McDonald, Katie Finneran, with Emilia Clarke and Olivia Colman, and Don Cheadle.
Based on Brian Michael Bendis, Leinil Francis Yu, Mark Morales, and Laura Martin’s comic book series, Secret Invasion is executive produced by Kyle Bradstreet (Mr. Robot), with Let Him Go director Thomas Bezucha and Ali Selim (The Looming Tower) set as directors.
Secret Invasion will premiere on June 21st, exclusively on Disney+.
