James Gunn Clears the Air on His Recent Photo with Zack Snyder

When James Gunn shared a photo of himself with director Zack Snyder earlier this week, it sent fans into a frenzy. The internet wasted no time speculating that was this must be a sign that Snyder might return to the DCU to direct another project under Gunn’s leadership.

But, as speculation was ramping up, Gunn stepped in to set the record straight. The DC Studios co-CEO recently clarified that his meeting with Snyder had nothing to do with business. He said:

“I was just talking to Zack as a friend. So, you know, we were just hanging out and then we’re like, ‘Let’s take a picture together.’ We knew full well what we were doing. He thought it was funny. I thought it was funny. And that’s that.”

In other words, there were no secret deals, no behind the scenes negotiations, just two friends catching up. Gunn also mentioned that the meeting was so brief he didn’t even have time to show Snyder an early cut of Superman.

As for Snyder, he remains focused on his own projects with Netflix, including his Rebel Moon films. Despite fans holding out hope that he will return to the world of DC, there’s no indication he’ll be returning to the franchise.
