James Gunn Confirms That Jimmy Olsen Will Be a Part of SUPERMAN: LEGACY
As James Gunn continues to respond to fans on Twitter, he has confirmed that the classic DC character Jimmy Olsen will be a part of his upcoming film Superman: Legacy. I think it was pretty safe to assume that Olsen would show up in the movie as The Daily Planet will be one of the main settings of the story.
In response to a fan asking if Jimmy Olsen will be in the movie, Gunn simply replied on Twitter: "ofc," AKA "of course."
Jimmy Olsen is the plucky, red-headed photojournalist of the DC Universe. He's always eager to snap a photo of Superman and get the scoop for the Daily Planet. Jimmy's known for his quick thinking and resourcefulness, even when he finds himself in some pretty wacky situations.
Olsen is a loyal friend to Clark Kent and Lois Lane, and is always ready to lend a helping hand. Plus, he's got a signal watch that lets him contact Superman whenever he needs a little backup. Whether he's battling crazy villains or tracking down a story, Jimmy Olsen seems like he’s always up for an adventure.
It will be interesting to see what Gunn has in store for the character, but it would make sense to give him a decent-sized role in the story.
Superman: Legacy will tell the story of “Superman’s journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent of Smallville, Kansas. He is the embodiment of truth, justice and the American way, guided by human kindness in a world that sees kindness as old-fashioned.”
The script for Superman: Legacy is done, and the project has recently entered pre-production with “Costumes, production design, and more now up and running.”
Superman: Legacy is scheduled to open in theaters on July 11, 2025. Who would you like to see take on the role of Jimmy Olsen!?
