James Gunn Confirms There Are Plans For Deathstroke in The DCU

DC Studios’ co-CEO James Gunn has been working hard on rebooting the DC Cinematic Universe, which will officially launch with Superman, which he is currently shooting.

Earlier this year we learned that DC Studios was developing a live-action Teen Titans movie with Ana Nogueira writing the script. She impressed Gunn and Peter Safran with her work on Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow

As you know, Deathstroke plays a big role in the Teen Titans story arc and Gunn recently confirmed that there are plans for Deathstroke in the DCU.

Gunn was asked on Instagram to respond with a wink if he has "plans" for Deathstroke, and he did respond with that signally that Deathstroke is coming. I imagine he will play a crucial role in the DCU.

Gunn was also asked on Threads about rumors regarding Teen Titans beginning shooting in late 2024. He has yet to confirm the project is in development and responded with "No".

Teen Titans were initially introduced in the ‘60s, and they are a dynamic team of young superheroes who come together to protect the world from various threats. Led by Robin, the former sidekick of Batman, the team is comprised of a diverse team that has included the likes of Starfire, Kid Flash, Raven, Aqualad, Wondergirl, Beast Boy, and Cyborg.

Throughout their adventures, the Teen Titans have faced off with villains such as Deathstroke, Trigon, and the Brotherhood of Evil, while also navigating the complexities of teenage life.

Through various comic book runs, animated series, and live-action adaptations, the Teen Titans have remained a big hit with fans over the years.

There were plans for a big Deathstroke storyline with Ben Affleck’s The Batman movie with Joe Manganiello in the role systematically destroying Batman’s life, but we’ll never see that happen.

Is there another actor you’d like to see play Deathstroke in Gunn’s DCU?
