James Gunn Will Start Shooting GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3 in 2020
After the events of Avengers: Endgame, fans are very excited to see what happens in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. The way Endgame set up the future of the Guardians is pretty brilliant and you can read some thoughts that I have on it here.
James Gunn wrote the script for the film and he will also be back to direct it after a lot of ridiculous drama. The movie was supposed to be released in 2020, but that release date will need to be pushed back. Gunn is currently deep into development on The Suicide Squad and won’t be able to start on the next Guardians film until he’s done.
According to a report from THR, Gunn will start production on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 in 2020, which means the film won’t be released until 2021 at the earliest. You can expect the whole core cast of characters for the franchise to return, with the highly possible addition of Thor, which will end up being amazing fun if that’s how things actually play out!
The report goes on to say that Black Widow, The Eternals and Shang-Chi will all start shooting this year.
