James Wan Set to Develop Series Adaptation of Indie Horror Game PACIFIC DRIVE
James Wan and his Atomic Monster production company have acquired the rights to the Game Award-nominated indie title Pacific Drive and they are looking to adapt it into a TV series.
Pacific Drive is “a retropunk-style driving and survival game set to an experimental electronic music soundtrack that challenges players to escape a surreal and abandoned exclusion zone with their car as their only companion in the dark and chilling world.”
The game was created by Cassandra Dracott from Ironwood Studio, and it was nominated for Best Debut Indie Game at the 2024 Game Awards and it won Best Gameplay at the 2024 BIG Festival, where it was also nominated for Best Game.
The series is currently not attached to a specific network or streaming platform. Wan and Atomic Monster’s Michael Clear and Rob Hackett will executive produce the TV series adaptation of the project along with Jeff Ludwig of The Menagerie Productions.
Atomic Monster is also currently developing TV projects such as 1313, which is a horror reboot of The Munsters, a TV series based on Robocop for Amazon and a live-action adaptation of Gargoyles for Disney+.
