Jason Blum Wants a M3GAN and IMAGINARY Movie Crossover
Blumhouse Pictures head Jason Blum is preparing to release his next horror movie Imaginary, which follows a young girl who is terrorized by a sinister teddy bear monster. Then eventually, Blum would like to produce a crossover movie where the worlds of Imaginary and M3GAN collide.
During a recent press event for Imaginary, Blum was asked about a Blumhouse horror universe, and where we could see franchises meeting in crossover events, and he responded:
"Well I'd love to see Chauncey and M3GAN have a fight. Maybe one day we'll do that."
It’s nothing new for horror franchises to crossover with each other and have the main characters face off with each other. This is something that Universal Pictures introduced years ago with their Universal Monsters. It’s always fun to see these kinds of crossovers, especially when the films are made well.
Blumhouse has previously discussed crossovers of Freaky and Happy Death Day as well as Insidious and Sinister.
In Imaginary, “When Jessica (DeWanda Wise) moves back into her childhood home with her family, her youngest stepdaughter Alice (Pyper Braun) develops an eerie attachment to a stuffed bear named Chauncey she finds in the basement. Alice starts playing games with Chauncey that begin playful and become increasingly sinister. As Alice’s behavior becomes more and more concerning, Jessica intervenes only to realize Chauncey is much more than the stuffed toy bear she believed him to be.”
What do you think about Blumhouse possibly doing some crossovers of its franchises down the road?
