Jeff Goldblum Wants The Grandmaster To Team Up with The Collector in a Future Marvel Film

There are a lot of great things that came out of Thor: Ragnarok and one of the weirdest and most amusing was seeing Jeff Goldblum play The Grandmaster. He was such a wild character and the fact that his brother is The Collector, who is played by Benicio del Toro, makes the whole thing even better! When previously talking about their relationship, Goldblum said:

"We're elders of the universe. We came about shortly after the Big Bang. We're the oldest living creatures in the universe. Grandmaster and my brother, Collector. I rule on this planet Sakaar and I put together games. I put together the great, great match between Hulk and the new Thor. "

A lot of fans have wondered if we would ever see the two characters come together in a movie, and if it were actually up to Goldblum, he'd make it happen. During a recent interview with The Toronto Sun, the actor was asked what Marvel hero he would like to see the Grandmaster meet up with in the future, and this was his reply:

“Oh, that’s an interesting idea. Well, I overlapped with one day of Cate Blanchett’s shooting and she’s so spectacular as Hela. I keep wanting to have scenes with her. We worked together on a Wes Anderson movie awhile ago — The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou — and I sure would love to do anything with her. But, in the comic books, the character of the Grandmaster is the brother of The Collector, played by Benicio del Toro, who I adore. So I would enjoy doing something with him. That would be fun.”

I'm sure a lot of fans would love to see that as well, but what are the chances of this actually happening? Well, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has said that he hopes to bring them together one day! When asked about the possibility of it happening, he said:

"It would be awesome man. It would be great. We love the idea that they’re brothers. If you go on the Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout attraction at California Adventure in Anaheim, you will see a picture on Collector’s wall of he and the Grandmaster playing some sort of a space chess game, which right now is the only place you can see the two of them in a frame together, but let’s hope that changes someday."

I doubt that we will see a spinoff film focusing on the two characters, but it's not too far-fetched to think that they will eventually appear together at some point in phase four. After all, the cosmic part of the MCU will be explored a lot more as the MCU moves forward.
