Jeffrey Dean Morgan Reveals That Melissa McBride Is Returning to Play Carol in Norman Reedus' THE WALKING DEAD Spinoff
Last year, fans got up in arms when it was revealed that Melissa McBride, who played Carol in the entire run of AMC’s hit series, The Walking Dead, had dropped out of the spinoff series that had been set to center around Carol and Daryl (Norman Reedus). Blame was unfairly placed on Reedus as the reason AMC was moving forward with a Daryl-only storyline, but it was purely the choice of McBride to exit the project at the time. But AMC and co-star Jeffrey Dean Moran, who played Negan in the flagship series, released statements to help set the record straight.
Now it’s Jeffrey Dean Morgan again who is revealing that McBride is in fact returning to play Carol in the Untitled Daryl Dixon series at AMC. The actress has said since her departure that she would probably eventually return to the role, but no one expected it would happen right away!
Morgan Tweeted a picture of the pair, and said the following:
“Well well. We’re sorry Norman … for talking oodles of shit to you when we thought Melissa wasn’t doing show! Golly…this must of been in the works for ages! (Twas from start). Goddamn it’s great seeing these two together! Can’t wait!”
