Jeph Loeb Teases the Future of Marvel TV Shows

Netflix finally cancelled its last two Marvel shows, Jessica Jones and The Punisher. We all knew it was coming. After their cancellation, Jeph Loeb, the head of Marvel TV, shared a touching letter and teased that this may not be the end of these shows. It turns out that Loeb has teased the return of the Netflix shows as well as potential for more stories. In an interview with Decider he explained:

I would not be surprised if any of those things reemerged. It depends on showrunner, it depends on availability of cast, all of those things. It’s not like we’re a doctor show where the show got canceled because of bad ratings. These are shows that have very different reasons [for ending], most of which I’m not at liberty to talk about, nor should anyone really care at the end of day.

In terms of the future, there are quite a few things that we can’t talk about yet and when we start to, I think people will start to go ‘Oh, the restaurant wasn’t closing. You just have a new menu because you have a fabulous new chef. Got it, I’ll be there Thursday.

I think there is plenty of reason to believe that over the next couple years we’ll see these shows return via Disney+. I don’t think it’ll be immediate, but I think Disney+ is going to find a way to bring these shows back and even improve on them. What are your thoughts on the future of these shows?
