Jeremy Renner Returns to Acting for the First Time Since His Accident
Jeremy Renner has made somewhat of a miraculous recovery over the last year, after his early January snow plow accident, which left him with dozens of broken bones, including eight ribs, his right knee and ankle and right shoulder, as well as a collapsed lung, his liver pierced by a rib bone, and extreme blood loss. He’s lucky to be alive, and he has worked hard in physical therapy to build back up the strength to be physically fit again.
All that work has paid off so that he can return to the job he loves, acting in front of the camera again. Renner shared an Instagram post first put up by his co-star Emma Laird confirming that she and Renner are returning to set to film Season 3 of their Paramount+ series Mayor of Kingstown.
The post states, “Back with my favourite guy next week @jeremyrenner,” and she shared a heart emoji as well as a photo of the pair on set.
The series, from Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan, “follows the McLusky family, power brokers in Kingstown, Michigan, where the business of incarceration is the only thriving industry. Tackling themes of systemic racism, corruption and inequality, the series provides a stark look at their attempt to bring order and justice to a town that has neither.”
It’s awesome to see Renner getting back to work! I’m glad to see him so far on his road to recovery. Check out the post below, and let us know if you’re looking forward to the third season of Mayor of Kingstown, set to return in 2025.
