JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 4 Is Getting an Extended DIrector's Cut From Chad Stahelski
John Wick: Chapter 4 was almost three hours of badass action insanity. I loved that movie and I thought it was one of the best installments of the franchise. The original cut of the film, though, was almost four hours! So, there was a lot of footage that didn’t end up making the final cut of the film.
Well, director Chad Stahelski has shared that he’s working on an extended director’s cut of the film, but don’t worry, it’s not going to be that four-hour cut of the movie. This new cut will only feature 10 to 15 minutes of extra footage. While speaking with ComicBookMovie, Stahelski said:
"I've been working on the Director's Cut, the extended cut, which we've almost finished. There's about another, I think, 10 to 15 minutes we put back in."
10 to 15 minutes isn't that crazy, and when asked what kind of extra footage that we’ll see, don’t worry, it won’t be more footage of Keanu Reeves’ John Wick falling down the stairs. The director said:
"We cut out a big chunk of Berlin, a whole character called The Frau, which is a pretty funny scene with John, and another scene between him and Tracker, a few other little action beats that we put back in. I mean, yeah, there's always stuff we take out because it doesn't fit the pacing. I think the stuff is all super quality, I love the choreo, I love the characters. It just didn't – as a whole, it changed the pace of the film..."
If he’s exacted about showing fans these new scenes, I’m excited about watching them! We have no idea when we’ll see this director’s cut of John Wick: Chapter 4 released, but I’m totally up for watching more footage of John Wick in action! Oliver Stone? Not so much.
