Jordan Peele Reportedly Met With Marvel Studios To Direct The X-MEN Movie

Jordan Peele is one of the most in-demand directors in Hollywood right now and he is very picky about the kind of projects that he takes on.

As of right now, he is only really working on film projects that are based on original stories that he wants to tell, and I appreciate that because Hollywood studios rarely jump into original film projects.

It doesn’t mean that he’s not having meetings with studios about other projects. According to Jeff Sneider on The Hot Mic podcast, Jordan Peele met with Marvel about directing a project within the MCU.

Then in another report from One Take News, they say that the project in question was the studio’s planned X-Men film.

Nothing is confirmed, and this meeting is said to have taken place a long time ago, so nothing may have come of it if the meeting actually took place.

Peele would be a strong choice to direct X-Men and I think fans would embrace his involvement. But, I’d be surprised if the filmmaker took on a project like this. It seems like he is more interested in telling his own stories, and I’d much rather see him continue to do that.

The last we heard about Marvel’s X-Men was a report saying that the studio wanted Black Panther’s Ryan Coogler to direct it. We’ll just have to wait and see how this all plays out.

Is there a filmmaker that you’d like to see helm Marvel’s X-Men movie?
