JUJUTSU KAISEN Season 3 Trailer Has Bad News for Gojo Fans
The first look at the upcoming third season of Jujutsu Kaisen has finally dropped, and while it teases plenty of action and character drama, it also delivers some tough news for fans of Gojo Satoru.
Season 2 adapted the Shibuya Incident Arc, which left the story in ruins after one devastating event after another. The arc saw the tragic death of Kento Nanami at the hands of Mahito, and even before that, Gojo himself was sealed away in the Prison Realm.
Without the strongest sorcerer holding the line, the villains gained the upper hand, unleashing chaos that left fans both shaken and eager to see what happens next.
Gojo isn’t part of the story, at least not yet. The teaser highlights many key characters stepping into the spotlight, but Gojo isn’t one of them.
The only indirect reference to him comes through Yuta Okkotsu’s dialogue, which hints at the sorcerers’ current priorities, but doesn’t even mention Gojo’s location. One thing I noticed in the trailer is that none of the characters in the trailer seem to be concerned about rescuing him.
The focus shifts to Yuji Itadori and his path forward after the destruction of Shibuya. Yuta also plays a central role, as he’s still bound by his vow to kill Yuji, a mission that creates a serious conflict between the two. This sets the stage for Part 1 of Season 3, which is expected to air with 12 episodes through winter 2026.
With Gojo sidelined, it looks like Yuki Tsukumo may take on a leadership role while Yuji and Yuta face off. Once their conflict plays out, Part 1 could lead directly into a larger plan to finally free Gojo, setting up the second half of the season.
While the absence of Gojo might feel like a loss for fans, it opens the door for other characters to shine. Yuji and Yuta, often seen as dual protagonists in the manga, now have the chance to step fully into the spotlight. Their growth and struggles could shape some of the most exciting storytelling Jujutsu Kaisen has delivered yet.
