Julianne Moore Has Joined the Cast of Broadway Film Adaptation of DEAR EVAN HANSEN
Julianne Moore is the most recent actor to have signed on to the big screen adaptation of the hit Broadway musical, Dear Evan Hansen. This comes just days after we reported that Amy Adams has also signed on to star. They join Ben Platt, who starred in the original Broadway cast, as well as Kaitlyn Dever and Amandla Stenberg.
The story follows Evan Hansen, “a high schooler with social anxiety. He unintentionally gets caught up in a lie after the family of a classmate who died by suicide mistakes one of Hansen’s letters for their son’s suicide note.”
Moore will play Evan Hansen’s mother. Stephen Chbosky is set to direct, from a script by Steven Levenson, who wrote the book for the stage musical. Benj Pasek and Justin Paul wrote the music and original lyrics for the musical and film.
Moore is a fantastic addition to the cast. It’s a great story, and I am excited to see it on the big screen.
