JURASSIC WORLD "Complete Reboot" Being Developed by JURASSIC PARK Writer David Koepp
Universal Pictures is developing a new Jurassic World movie, and they’ve hired Jurassic Park screenwriter David Koepp to write it. The project is described by Deadline as being a “complete reboot,” and it’s on the fast track to production.
The new Jurassic World movie will be “a completely fresh take on a Jurassic era with Jurassic World, and stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are not expected to return. Don’t expect to see Jeff Goldblum, Laura Dern, or Sam Neill to show up either.
The new film will be executive produced by Steven Spielberg through Amblin Entertainment, Frank Marshall, and Patrick Crowley will produce.
The Jurassic Park and Jurassic World franchises have always been big business for the studio and they’re obviously ready to start cashing in on it again. This franchise has had a good run, but this whole thing seems kind of silly to me. Do we really need another one of these films? No. But, while they’re at it, I hope that they at least take some kind of big swing with the story and do something very different than the other films that have been made.
What would you like to see from this franchise as the studio moves forward with this reboot?
