JURASSIC WORLD Director Colin Trevorrow Set to Take on ATLANTIS for Universal

Colin Trevorrow is getting back to work after quarantine, with production starting back up on the third Jurassic installment, Jurassic World: Dominion. The film is one of the first to get back to business, as we reported, with many guidelines and protocols in place to keep the cast and crew safe during the pandemic. But it looks like Trevorrow has his future plans cut out for him even after Dominion is finished, as he has just signed on to direct another film for Universal called Atlantis.

The thriller will be based on an idea by Trevorrow about the mythical city, which he will produce with Matt Charman (Bridge Of Spies). The script will be written by Dante Harper, who wrote All You Need Is Kill, which became the Tom Cruise thriller Edge Of Tomorrow, as well as Alien: Covenant.

Deadline reports the following synopsis:

Unlike previous incarnations of the mythical city as an underwater kingdom, Trevorrow’s Atlantis is set on a lost continent in the Indian Ocean between Africa, India and Oceania. It is a multicultural civilization with its own advanced technology.

This is an idea that Trevorrow came up with in 2018 but waited to develop until his team could research and mindfully build the world they wanted before going to script. I think this sounds like a lot of fun, and Trevorrow is a great director to bring it to the screen.

Are you excited for a new movie that explores the lost city of Atlantis?
