Kara Meets Superman in First Clip From SUPERGIRL and Their Introduction is a Little Awkward

DC Studios has released the first clip from Supergirl, offering fans their first real look at the dynamic between Kara Zor-El and her famous cousin, Superman. The scene is short, funny, and packed with the kind of charm that sets these two Kryptonians apart from one another.

The footage opens with Kara Zor-El, played by Milly Alcock, arriving on Earth in her escape pod alongside Krypto. Waiting to greet her is David Corenswet's Superman, who is clearly trying to make a good first impression. There's just one problem. He can't understand a single word she's saying.

While Superman may be Earth's greatest hero, he apparently hasn't spent much time brushing up on his Kryptonian. That language barrier creates an amusing first encounter, made even better when Krypto decides to nip at Superman's finger as he attempts to help Kara out of the ship.

The playful tone continues as the pair make their way toward the Fortress of Solitude. Kara takes one look at her cousin's iconic costume and asks why Clark is "in his underwear," a joke that is sure to get a laugh from audiences.

Before the clip wraps up, Superman lets Kara know that her powers should arrive "right about... now," setting the stage for her transformation into the Girl of Steel.

The scene does a great job of establishing Kara's personality early on. While Superman appears welcoming and optimistic, Kara immediately comes across as sharp-tongued, skeptical, and completely unimpressed by the legendary hero standing in front of her.

In the film, "When an unexpected and ruthless enemy threatens, Kara Zor-El is forced, against her will, to team up with an unlikely companion. Together, they embark on an epic cosmic journey where revenge and justice are at stake – and where Kara must confront her origins to find her own path as a hero.”

Alcock is joined by Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley, David Krumholtz, Emily Beecham and Jason Momoa in key roles. Peter Safran and James Gunn are producing the film for DC Studios.

If this first clip is any indication, audiences can expect plenty of humor, heart, and a refreshingly different take on the Last Daughter of Krypton when Supergirl arrives in theaters on June 26, 2026.
